Use Voice Typing and Assistant Mode on Mobile
Voice typing puts speech into a prompt you can review. Assistant Mode supports a spoken conversation and can submit after a pause. Both depend on microphone access; desktop transcription also needs a connected desktop with its speech service configured.
Choose where speech is transcribed
Open mobile Settings → Voice → Input and enable voice input. Under Transcribe speech on, choose Phone for the phone’s speech recognition with live text, or Desktop to send a phone recording to the paired desktop. For Phone, choose the recognition language. For Desktop, configure the speech-to-text service and language in desktop Settings → Voice.
Record a prompt
In project chat, tap the microphone and allow microphone access if requested. With Desktop selected, speak and tap the microphone again or the recording stop control to finish and transcribe. Desktop-mode recordings can be up to five minutes. The recording panel shows elapsed time and microphone activity.
Review or cancel before sending
Wait for transcription to finish, correct the text, and then send the prompt. Sending is disabled while transcription is in progress. Use the recording panel’s cancel control to discard a recording or cancel transcription. If nothing arrives, check microphone permission, the selected transcription mode, and the desktop connection.
Start Assistant Mode
Open Assistant Mode from the chat controls and check the displayed provider and model. Speak your request and pause so the assistant can submit it. Configure the response voice in Settings → Voice → Output. Give one clear task at a time, then follow the reply and any delegated work.
Switch between voice and conversation text
Use Show conversation text to read the transcript or type into Assistant Mode; use Show voice orb to return to the orb. Mute microphone pauses microphone input. Minimize collapses the overlay so you can navigate, while its restore control brings the conversation back. Use the stop control when you intend to stop the active work.
Check delegated work and recover errors
Open the assistant’s agent-task control to inspect delegated activity, and verify the final result in the project conversation or Task Manager. If recording or playback fails, check the visible error and connection before retrying. Keep the phone’s microphone clear of speaker output or use headphones when spoken replies repeatedly interfere with capture.
